|Los Cabos International Airport (SJD / MMSD)|
Beware of the Los Cabos airport SHARKS!
They're also called time share sellers or OPC's (Outside Personal Contact)... Those guys are the most aggressive sales team that hotels and time share developments have and they have a lot of them at the airport and even more than ever at the new terminal 2... which by the way is brand new and really nice!
When our clients book their private airport transfers, they are also trying to escape from the fierce and aggressive way the time share sellers use to convince them to go into a 99 minute presentation, in exchange these guys will offer you a bottle of Tequila and a Poncho or if you are lucky enough maybe even one activity for just showing up to the opportunity of your life! yeah sure...!
But going through the airport is a whole experience of its own and our clients say it feels really nice to have somebody waiting outside the airport terminal with a sign and then just step into the vehicle and leave, as when this happens, their vacation officially started! :)
Anyway, when you book your airport transfers with any company, [ with us for example :) ] the chauffeurs will be at the airport at least 15 minutes before your flight lands. and it is supposed to take only 20 to 30 minutes, at the most, for you to go through immigration, pick up your luggage and then clear customs to get out of the airport terminal so you can meet our staff which should be waiting for you with a CGS sign with your name on.
If you get caught by the time share guys, besides those 20 or 30 minutes they will hold you in there until you sign with them for a presentation and they will not take a "NO" for an answer and oh! boy they do know how to do their job!
This precious time they take away from you, can also affect other travelers, specially if you booked a shared shuttle ride. as they will make the other shuttle riders wait until you show up and that will not be nice of you...
Also if you have booked a private ride you might as well affect the chauffeur's itinerary and worst if you booked a stop for groceries that might be affected too as most of the vehicles are assigned to do other services after yours, as you are buying some time of use of the vehicle only, so if you take too long inside the airport it will not be the chauffeur's fault if he can't stop no more for your groceries just because you didn't pay attention to the note that reads "Please ignore the people inside the airport and keep walking, we'll meet you outside the terminal"... specially if is it at no surcharge.
You have to remember that if you booked a private ride from the airport to the hotel, the stopping on the way is only optional and most of the companies will offer to stop for a surcharge which goes from $40 USD to $60 USD per stop for up to an hour.
So you know and only for this season 2013, our company offers a 30 minute stop for groceries either that or 6 beers complimentary when the round trip airport transfers are reserved, but it must be mentioned in the Special requests field otherwise we take no responsibility for not being able to stop if you don't mention that when you reserve.
So that's it for today and as I final comment. We, the transportation companies are not allowed to be inside the airport terminals to meet and greet our clients at baggage claim area, so if you have transportation booked please do not stop inside the terminal and keep walking, we know its hard not to see them or not to believe them but if you stop with them it can be a bad start of your vacation and we don't want that to happen to you :)
Happy traveling to Los Cabos!
